These Gearboxes are very popular in the workshop because as we all know commercial vehicles work hard, this strong Renault derived unit is shared on a multi platform of vehicles and most commonly suffers bearing failure due to wear.

We always replace a full set of bearings on our repairs and this unit is no exception, all work carried out is done with a view of longevity because no commercial vehicle driver wants to be off the road for any amount of time let alone future repairs.

With any bearing replacement on these units we revise the preload on the shafts to a more sympathetic setting, in our opinion this allows for a much longer life from the newly fitted bearing set and maximises the return for the customer on the cost of the repair.

One last issue we have found on these units is difficult/stiff gear selection, this is mostly caused by the gear selector unit and its bearings that run through the cases seizing up. So included in our service package is a new selector unit and bearings fitted at no extra cost, because prevention is better than a cure.
